This module will enable students to consolidate their animation skills in a semi-professional context. The presence of external agents creates a situation where students act as creative content providers for a client's brief. The students will experience and develop the ability to work in a team towards a creative goal. The students will also complete an individual development project demonstrating their understanding of animation practice, production and pipelines. This module gives students a targeted insight to the needs of the animation industry.
This module is 40 credits to reflect the studio based practical elements of the module which require intensive time, independent study and tutorials and cover both technical and creative aspects of animation and vfx pipelines.
This module enables students to develop an understanding of post-graduate level research through a series of seminars, lectures, and tutorials.
The exploration of different topics, contemporary issues, and research methods relevant to the students' discipline, aims to guide the students through their self-directed research to expand their knowledge in specialised areas through in- depth query and analysis.
The module presents the students with the opportunity to present their research, ideas, and their identified problem within their discipline and area of interest as their first assignment. This enables students to receive constructive feedback from the lecturers in preparation for their second assignment in which they are required to write their first academic research proposal.
This assignment could be tailored for a research project, a PhD, or a conference paper and is a 20 credit course.
