This module is delivered to students in drawing studio environment and its structure is a series of drawing assignments. Students learn basic drawing skills and techniques using a variety of black & white and coloured media.
Sample unit scheme:
· Drawing of simple geometric objects
· Synthesis with geometric objects
· Synthesis with simple everyday objects
· Synthesis with complex everyday objects
· Synthesis with everyday objects of different material (e.g.: glass, plastic, wood, metal)
· Form and shape: Positive and negative
· Form and shape: geometric and organic
· Scale and proportion
· Perspective and depth
· Colour theory
Through the above assignments, students will be introduced to: line, perspective, shadow and light, natural and artificial light, tone, structure, shape, form, proportion, texture and pattern.
In this module students learn to transform 3D objects in 2D drawings taking in mind the above elements, through a variety of media, such as pencil, pen, charcoal and watercolour, pastel etc.
